June at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, usually brings some of the most comfortable conditions of the year for NASCAR fans heading to The Great American Getaway 400. Days are warm, evenings are cooler but still pleasant, and it’s a great time to be outdoors around the “Tricky Triangle.”
Early summer typically brings plenty of sunshine with some partly cloudy days. Humidity is moderate, so warmer afternoons usually feel manageable, especially with a light breeze around the grandstands and infield. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are recommended, and a light hoodie or jacket is useful once the sun sets.
June brings around 3–4 inches (75–100 mm) of rain on average. Brief showers or a passing thunderstorm are possible, especially later in the day, but they don’t usually last long enough to wipe out a full race weekend. A compact poncho or light rain jacket is smart to pack just in case.
Winds are generally light to moderate, around 5–10 mph (8–16 km/h). At times, afternoon gusts can reach about 15 mph (24 km/h), which can feel refreshing in the open seating areas and around the camping zones.
